Welcome!
The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

Thanks for the rep and nice comment Mouse. As you can see, I've figured out a way to make walls without having to use city icons with the walls attached
No problem! I loved the map. I stopped trying to write stories with my maps in favor of writing dnd adventures for them! That way I don't actually have to make the story, its up to the jerks I dm for haha Thanks for the rep on the Sarquin Desert! Thats my most recent campaign map!
I just realized that I don't say "thank you" even remotely often emogh. Thanks for the rep on the Ravaged Reaches, Sue!
Thanks for the rep and comments, Mouse, I was really happy with how it turned out. Great to have you back on the Guild with us!
Thank you for your vote Mouse!
Thanks for your vote and kind words, Mouse
Thanks a lot for the rep and for your kind words, Mouse! Much appreciated. It is indeed really great to have access to a chalkboard, as I find chalk drawing very rewarding. It's suitable for lettering, calligraphy, drawing, note taking, brain storming and, of course, map making... =) The nice thing is that it's fairly easy to get a chalkboard wall with minimal investment nowadays, and if you're feeling inclined to it, it's a cool DIY project. All you need is a small can of blackboard paint, a roller and a couple of hours (and then a lot of patience and self restraint to let it fully dry without touching it =). If you want more details about how I done mine, let me know. I'd be glad to help.
Ugh, that does sound like more than your minor hiccup... I'm suddenly feeling very lucky with my own setup here! As I said before, I really hope you'll get everything sorted out soon. I know I'm speaking for more than just myself when I'm saying your absence is being noticed. I only just now saw the thread about how you'll be gone for a while. Sorry for bugging you about my map, I did not realize you had this much trouble with your setup! Thank you for the rep and comments though, they are even more appreciated now that I know how much effort there was even in being able to write them
That doesn't sound like fun at all Hope you can get things sorted out soon enough! I sent the link via PM, the visitor message won't allow it for some reason.
Thank you for the birthday wishes! Always a pleasure :3 I can't help but notice you haven't commented on my latest, btw! I'd love to hear your thoughts as well if you can find the time at some point
